Dining Above Paris: The Elegant Transformation of the Jules Verne Restaurant inside The Eiffel Tower

THE EIFFEL TOWER is special as an iconic symbol of 19th-century industrial engineering and French culture, originally built as the centerpiece for the 1889 World’s Fair to celebrate the centennial of the French Revolution.

Inside the JULES VERNE RESTAURANT at the Eiffel Tower, the newly redesigned space marks a significant transformation. To honor the Paris landmark’s 130th birthday, designer Aline Asmar d’Amman oversaw a complete renovation of this culinary destination.

Located on the second floor of the south pillar, the Jules Verne Restaurant—named after the celebrated French novelist, poet, and playwright Jules Verne—reopened on July 20, 2025, fully refurbished by architect and interior designer Aline Asmar d’Amman, founder of Culture in Architecture. With around six million visitors annually, nearly 80 percent of whom are international, Chef Anton aims to reflect France’s culinary excellence through his cuisine. By revisiting classic dishes using seasonal and local ingredients, he seeks to create a refined gastronomic experience rooted in the arts décoratifs tradition, available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

“I named the metal chairs Iron Lady, a reference to powerful women, inspired by the curve of the Eiffel Tower’s main arch,” says Aline Asmar d’Amman. “The Lace Chair is crafted from wood with smoky caning, resembling delicate fishnet stockings.”

Two rounded benches surround custom tabletops embedded with colored stones, a gift from Karl Lagerfeld to the restaurant.
