Katie Carpenter, Missy Hargraves and Christine Schott Ledes co-hosted a private screening for documentary filmmaker Robin Baker Leacock’s PBS film, “A Passion for Giving,” on Tuesday, March 10 at 6 PM at the legendary La Coquille Club in Palm Beach. The invitation-only screening commemorated the film’s 10th anniversary and celebrated the relevance of the topics explored in the film today.
The screening was attended by nearly 50 guests and featured one of the film’s philanthropic guest stars, Louise Mellon Stephaich. To kick off the evening, Christine Schott Ledes introduced Leacock, who spoke to the message behind “A Passion for Giving.” Leacock then introduced both Katie Carpenter and Missy Hargraves who discussed their global philanthropic and environmental work. Later in the evening, Leacock announced her upcoming film that has been picked up by PBS, “Stella & Co: A Romantic Musical Comedy Documentary About Aging.” Inspired by her mother, the fun, lighthearted and nostalgic film will debut around Mother’s Day and stylishly show how seniors should be considered front and center in our world.
At the screening, Leacock said: “I am thrilled to share this film with you all in Palm Beach as this story is all about kindness and giving back. This city has a long history of philanthropy. lifestyle ties in with the uplifting themes found within my documentary film, ‘A Passion for Giving.’ I hope you all see this film as a reminder of the true power of connection. We should all care for one another. You never know what someone is or has gone through before.”
Robin Leacock, the daughter-in-law of cinema verite pioneer, Richard Leacock and wife of director and cinematographer, Robert Leacock, created “A Passion for Giving,” in 2009 to inspire audiences to help others by showcasing international philanthropic efforts and giving. The 50-minute, uplifting film features prominent philanthropists and celebrities including Dan Aykroyd, Run-DMC, Gail Green, Louise Mellon Stephaich and Henry Buhl, among others.

Robin Baker Leacock is a documentary filmmaker who directed "It Girls,” PBS film, "A Passion for Giving,” “Stella is 95,” and "I'll Take Manhattan.” In 2020, she is set to debut her fifth film titled, “Stella & Co: A Romantic Musical Comedy Documentary About Aging.” The film is inspired by her mother and set to debut on PBS around Mother’s Day.
