Celebrating its 77th Anniversary, the Hundred Year Association has selected AFCEA as this year’s recipient of its annual Gold Medal Award in a gala event that took place on Friday, January 19,2024. Presented to remarkable organizations, leaders and contributors to the community and the nation, the award has been granted every year since 1930 (except during WWII).
"The Hundred Year Association’s recognition of AFCEA’s impact, leadership and history goes back 68 years, when in 1955, AFCEA Founding Member, Brigadier General David Sarnoff received this prestigious Gold Medal Award.” said AFCEA President & CEO, Lt. Gen. Susan S.Lawrence.“Our chapters and student chapters support more than 31,000 individual and approximately 1,600 corporate members.
"Past recipients of the award include civic leaders Honorable Thomas Dewey, Robert Moses, Robert Morgenthau and Ray Kelly; Mayors Fiorello LaGuardia, Robert Wagner, Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg, business leaders from industry and media, entertainers Oscar Hammerstein, Richard Rodgers and Tony Randall; and three generations of Rockefellers.
