Frederick Francois Chopin was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the Romantic Era who wrote primarily for solo piano. Chopin is best remembered for his short pieces, known as miniatures.
Valldemossa is the highest town in Mallorca as best known as the place where the Polish composer and his lover, a French writer George Sand spent the winter of 1838-1839 stayed in a rented room in a monastery in Valldemossa. The part of the monastery is now the Chopin museum.
