Over 100 people attended The Miami Woman’s Club’s first fund raising event in their newly refurbished clubhouse on Saturday September 30th, a Fashion Extravaganza, benefitting the Biscayne Bay Recovery Fund. This organization is spear headed by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. The “face” of the BBRF is Louis Aguirre, the environmental reporter from Channel 10, his famous tag line “Don’t Trash our Treasure” referring directly to the education and clean up of Biscayne Bay.
Two of Miami’s design outlets, Aurora and Miami Gift showed their fall collections of both Miami casual and cocktail and evening wear using models from the MWC and other local ladies. Hamilton Fundraising Auctions, under the guidance of Janice Hamilton conducted a silent auction throughout the afternoon. The collection of art, jewelry and accessories was outstanding; the auction also included 2 Exclusive travel packages.
Attendees enjoyed light bites by R Catering, accompanied by signature cocktails and sparkling wine. A raffle was also held with dining certificates received from the two newly opened restaurants in the building, Klaw and Casadonna plus gift certificate from the Design stores.
The Miami Woman’s Club is delighted that Significant money was raised for this worthy cause.
