It was 1980, the start of that glittering decade of glamour and exuberant entertaining when Norbert and Lidia Goldner opened Café L’Europe at The Esplanade on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach.
The combination of European sophistication, fabulous food and the warm welcome that greeted each and every guest made Café L’Europe an instant success. “Le tout” Palm Beach (and beyond) crowded the chic dining room and bar nightly.

The legend continued as Café L’Europe moved to larger premises on S. County Rd, while successfully maintaining the unique ambiance that was created at inception.
Forty years on, after a fruitful partnership between the Goldners, Joseph McCarthy, Vic Damone and Rocco Marcello, Café L’Europe is now owned and operated exclusively by the Marcello family who have deep ties to the Town of Palm Beach and collectively have backgrounds in banking, hospitality and interior design.
The Marcello family is dedicated to honoring our 40-year legacy as a Palm Beach dining landmark, while re-creating Café L’Europe as a youthful, warm, chic and welcoming restaurant where anyone can feel comfortable whether in jewels or in jeans.
